Editing Fedora Gnome menus

Need to install a program called 'alacarte'. Then right-click the menu.

Is there a command line way to do this? Doesn't look like it.

As far as I know, alacarte is just a graphical front end to editing the underlying .menu files, which are just xml -- if you'd rather handle things directly, you can skip alacarte altogether. There's information in the Gnome docs about the menu system, including the structure and location of the files.
