The last project was stressful, so that means it's time for another Seamwork's Lex!
The fit is still good, so staying with the same size 16 Curvy, but trying out elongating the top this time. I added 10cm length to the original length of the pattern (so +10cm to v1, +20cms to v2).
I'm using a Cable Knitted Jacquard, black, 81% Polyester, 16% Viscose, 3% Lycra, 340 gsm, with the same black knit cuff ribbing, 95% cotton 5% spandex, 285gsm, and black thread.
I usually trace my patterns, lay the traced patterns on the fabric with pattern weights, and then use a rotary blade to cut it all out at once. But when cutting out thick fabrics like this one, I've found it necessary to cut out the traced pattern pieces first, and then use the rotary cutter to cut just the fabric around the pattern pieces. It's an extra step, but it does save a lot of heartache.
I stitched all of it with straight stitch, and only single lines of top-stitching around the neckline and waistband. The neck is a little tight, so going back to a stretch stitch there would be better. Otherwise the fit is fine, still. This longer length is nice, but it is not quite long enough to get away with as a tunic/dress type length. You may be relieved to know that I don't have another Lex planned at the moment, but if there is another one it could do with being even longer.
