Seamwork's Hansie is your basic t-shirt, but non-stretch woven. I'd toiled this pattern some time ago, but found I didn't have a suitable fabric for it, so it sat unmade. In the old stash I got down from the attic I found a very non-stretch red lace fabric. I was trying to come up with an outfit for a vampire themed event and my brain smashed the two together.
I started with the size 16 (curvy), with the high neckline. The red lace fabric is narrow, so I wouldn't be able to get a full length top from it. Instead I folded the pattern where the lace self-finished. Ignored the darts, cut. Straight stitch for the side seams and shoulders, narrow zig-zag to finish. Also ignored the facings, just finished the edges, then turned the neckline and sleeves to hem. Using Gütermann thread colour 156. Scalloped edge of fabric finishes the waist hem.
Very quick sew. The neckline is almost too tight. Would definitely make it bigger on any subsequent versions, if not just go for the lower neckline option from the beginning. As a sheer cropped over-shirt this is very cute. But I do think this top is entirely dependent on the fabric, so will need to wait until another suitable one comes along.
