George + Ginger's The RuLo Top and Dress pattern is mix-and-match knit top pattern with a range of body and sleeve options. Still in the outerwear mindset I wanted something I could layer over other things, but under actual outerwear.

I decided to try the tunic, basic sleeve, and neckband combination. I went with a size 20/2X, because I wanted to layer it, but suspecting it would be generous. To maximise fabric utilisation I added a centre-back seam to the back piece (adding seam-allowance), and laid it top-to-tail with the front piece on the one width of fabric.

For the fabric I used a fine knit jersey Lisa, dark grey, 80% polyester, 15% viscose, 5% elastane, 225gsm. And because this fabric has dimension I precut the pattern pieces before cutting the fabric.

This pattern only allows a quarter-inch seam-allowance, which makes sewing stressful. I sewed with a ballpoint needle, a walking foot, and black thread. First thing I did was sew my new centre-back seam. I also deviated from the instructions in that I attached the sleeves before sewing up the side seams. The rest is very straight forward and quick to do.

My sleeve hems, and waist hem, are a bit ruffled. I over-stretched the former when sewing, and the latter just turned weirdly. Fit wise, it's comfortable, but as expected it's a bit big. I would definitely try an 18/1X next time. The neckline is quite wide, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Also, because of my shortness this tunic length is fully dress length on me. I haven't had much opportunity to wear this, as we head into the better weather, but hope to bond with it more later in the year.
